‘Winter Blues’ Value Studies

These color studies started as a challenge with another UK illustrator in January to get creative again after the Christmas and New Year holidays. I wanted to see what landscapes would look like if they were all blue, using different amounts of water to create depth and detail. As I continued with the challenge, I got more confident using the one colour like this and also began using my own photos as references. It was a fantastic experiment and would be interested in painting more like this next winter.
